Kinvara United 0-2 Craughwell United - Sunday 27th March 2022
In a very closely contested game our U18 Kinvara boys bowed out of the Connacht Shield to Craughwell .
Although Craughwell play in a division higher, Kinvara pushed them all the way through the game. Craughwell had a slight edge in the 1st half but our keeper Shaun Phillips denied them a goal with a string of fine saves until just before half time when Craughwell scored, always a bad time to concede.
On resumption of the game Kinvara pushed hard to try to find an equaliser with Liam Martyn coming closest to be denied by an unbelievable save. Kinvara had several more chances and goalmouth scrambles but just couldn't find a way through. Late on in the game Craughwell scored a 2nd goal which effectively closed out the tie.
A huge effort from the lads with great attitude and commitment, what more could you ask for. All subs came on during the course of the game and contributed wholeheartedly.
