St. Patrick's 2-2 Kinvara United
Kinvara travelled to Caherlistrane with a few players missing but nonetheless put in a huge performance to earn a fully deserved point with our lads unlucky not to take all three points home on the day.
Kinvara opened the scoring through a fine finish by Harry Mulleady assisted by Conor McGrath, before St. Patrick's drew level with a narrow finish which was judged to have crossed the line by the referee after goalkeeper Sean Pearl got two hands to the ball. Kinvara then took the lead again in the first half after Eoghan Hanley delivered an excellent long range free kick into the box which was well finished by Taidhg Geoghegan in the bottom left hand corner. It was St. Patrick's who scored next with not long left in the first half, and both teams went in at half time with 2 goals apiece and all to play for.
A lively second half saw both teams create multiple chances, with Cathal Casey finding the back of the net for Kinvara after a well taken freekick by Johnny Linnane only for the referee to rule it offside, and 2-2 was how it finished in Caherlistrane to set us up nicely for our next fixture away to Moyne Villa on Friday evening.
